The Big Step Wells

Our much-loved building has recently been declared beyond long-term maintenance and is at the end of its working life. Despite this, we are currently thriving, with full sessions for the year ahead and a waiting list. We need a new building. We have permission to relocate within the school grounds with full support from Somerset Council, but to make this vision a reality, we need to fundraise on a massive scale. Our goal is to raise £50,000 to match a grant bid and help us take the next BIG STEP towards a new purpose-built home

We are embarking on our biggest journey yet — The BIG STEP — a project to create a purpose-built home for Stepping Stones within the grounds of Stoberry Park School. The new building will provide up to 40 places, ensuring we can support more families and continue playing a vital role in the early years for local families. The overall project is estimated to cost £500,000. We need to raise £50,000 towards this goal — an ambitious but essential step to secure our future

Although we enjoy a close relationship with the wider school community, Stepping Stones remains an independent, committee-run organisation. A dedicated team of voluntary trustees work alongside our staff to ensure we continue to thrive.

We're launching a major Fundraising Campaign — and the centrepiece will be a BIG Raffle with incredible prizes. The campaign will officially launch in May 2025 supported with Press releases. The tickets will be on sale from May to late October. There will be hive of activity will be at the Wells Food Festival, where we'll have a pitch with children's activities, information, and raffle tickets on sale. The final draw in late October. We're hoping to source BIG prizes, many with a local food theme, to tie in with the festival and celebrate our community.
